Who I am, what I do, and why I do it.
Hello. I live in Mandaluyong City and work from my home-attic studio where my ideas are scribbled, inked, painted and scanned, "CorelDrawed, Illustratored and Photoshoped." Basically, this means I scribble out my ideas in paper, scan them, trace them in CorelDraw/Illustrator and/or paint them in Adobe Photoshop for the magic touches -- Though not always necessarily in that order, of course.
My folks recall I could draw before I could write. I began illustrating the day I learned to use a pencil. By the time I was in pre-school I was constantly scribbling on paper, on books, on schoolboards, on posters, on trees , on dirt, on sand, and on walls. Much to my mom’s delight, the walls of our home would be well adorned with crayons and pencil marks faster than she could clean them.
Illustration made it possible for High School to be a little bit easier compared to your average penniless youth. By then, I was able to market my skills enough to be self-sufficient. My scribbling paid my way thru tuition, bus fares, the cafeteria, a few drinks and a few movie premiers.
I studied BS Architecture to hone my illustration skills. I practiced architectural work for only a couple of years then decided to shift to fulltime illustration and graphic design.
